Anyone know how to change the exercise on a DC2 controller from unloaded cycle to full speed unloaded? I can’t figure out how to change it, even with Site Tech. Says you can, but the changes I make don’t remain even when you click “apply changes”. I’ll call support this week anyway, but I want to get rid of the cycling exercise, customers think it sounds bad.

On my RDC 2.4 controller I can change it with the app on my smart phone.

The RDC2 is easy to change with site tech. The DC2 is the less featured controller and I can't get the setting to change. I can command it to do an unloaded full speed exercise or change the setting, but can't get get it to save the change.

Update the firmware?

According to the owners manual pg 58, you can use the buttons to set it to unloaded low speed or loaded full speed. But it takes the laptop to set it to unloaded full speed, which of course is not working for you.

I always set them to loaded full speed, because a transfer switch that isn't tested isn't known to be working either, just like a generator.

I have two of these I'd like to change. At least its not doing any harm in the meantime. It was suggested by one of the companies I sub for that there may not be any more DC2 controllers. The firmware is the latest in both. 1.3.1 I think it is. I called, but weather is bad there and they have limited staff. I'll try again tomorrow.

Not sure if this helps, but rliebnosr sent this to me. There was some image posting trouble which I think I've nailed down...

Thanks for posting that. I have the dvd with all the manuals. What I have shows the same thing in that you can change it unloaded full speed with site tech. It won't save the changes for whatever reason and may well be operator error on my part.

My knowledge of Kohler controllers and SiteTech is very limited  Figured I'd reach out to a contact and see what they had to say.

Out and about doing some generator service and when I return, I’ll give them a call and share. Other than it being brutally cold out your way, the weather looks better and there’s likely people there to answer.
