Man that carb was in ROUGH shape... Cool pictures though! I've only worked on 1 of these and it was quite the pain to tear apart :wtf:

Had to work one of those and a couple of the IQ’s as well. A lot stuffed in there. I service portables here and there. One of the large electrical contractors drops off units to the supply house. Most of the time, valve adjustment, plug, oil change, maybe a tweak to the frequency and they run well. Sometimes a carb change at most. Have a 10k in the garage at the moment that’s getting a new motor.

I'll tell ya what though, I'd MUCH rather work on the iQ2000. I have 2 of them and have worked on a few and they've at least designed them to be easily repaired!

I have the same gen. is there a way to plump in an auxiliary fuel tank so it can run an entire night? I was thinking about adding a boat gas tank.

The way they do it on Honda units is to connect a gas cap to the generator that has a tight o-ring seal and a fuel hose fitting that goes to the auxiliary tank. Then when the generator fuel pump sucks fuel out of its own tank it pulls a bit of a vacuum which causes fuel to flow in from the auxiliary tank through the modified cap.

I have not worked on one of these. This assumes it has its own fuel pump like the Hondas do.
