Most likely a bad/dead battery. Best bet is to remove it and have it tested for free at your local auto parts store.

How old is the battery and have you had it actually load tested? A battery can read fully charged, but when a load is applied (like a starter) if the battery has a bad cell, the voltage will drop significantly and you'll hear the clicking you're talking about.

For your own sanity, please take the battery out and have it load tested. If it tests good, you're not out anything except a trip to the auto parts store. This will eliminate a very big 'what if' in your troubleshooting...

What IS the battery voltage measured at the terminals with a digital meter?

Can you post some more info about the generator? The serial number would be the most helpful. These units all have trickle chargers onboard, so a 2nd one should not be needed. Testing the starter solenoids is pretty each with a digital meter set to DC voltage once we know which unit you're working on.

That unit most certainly has a charger which is located under the control panel cover to the left of the voltage regulator. The charger in that unit is shown here: https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... a1801-more

That charger has very likely gone bad, but if the battery is charged, still doesn't explain the no-start condition. However, the trickle charger you wired in MUST be powered by a circuit which is covered by the gen when you lose power, otherwise the unit will slowly die during a long outage and eventually stall...

When you click the manual button, what exactly happens? You should be seeing a flashing RPM Loss light am I correct?
