Canceling automatic exercise

I've got an older 04742 unit, s/n 3638328

For a long time, I had it set up to NOT auto-exercise. Recently, it started auto-exercising again, and I can't remember how to cancel it.
Anybody know how?

The panel is primitive (20 years old) and only has the momentary rocker switch to set the exercise time. Manual only describes how to set the time.
I prefer to manually exercise the generator.

I don't believe there was a way to 'cancel' it other than to leave it off, which would also cancel the automatic operation.

Ive never done it, but if you reboot the unit, and never set an exercise cycle, can it start in auto if there was a power failure?

I believe the older PCB's would just set the exercise at whatever time/day you powered the panel back on, even though you never officially 'set' the exercise with the switch.
