Just purchased a used Generac 20KW 1.6L standby generator. Hoping to use this for my Off-Grid cabin. It is a 2007 LP gas Model #005336-1 Serial # 4724494. The unit looks like it has hardly any hours on it. It sat for a few years. I installed a new timing belt(not broken, just afraid since it had been sitting), adjusted the magnetic pick up (have 1 to 1.2 volts), replaced the low pressure fuel switch(was leaking). I have 12 volts going to the coil while cranking at 15R wire, but have no spark at the spark plugs. I got the tech manual and it says I should have voltage at wire 14A out of the board going to the engine run relay. I do not!! Any thoughts. P.S. I have green "all ready" code on display and no red faults.
Second Question: Is there any blow up pictures of the gas valve. Would like to get parts/rebuild kit for the valve. It has no plunger or spring under the fuel solenoid. There should be one right?
Thank you for your time
Hope you can help me

Sounds like someone else had this problem too... The 14 circuit is called the 'run circuit' and also is power to the fuel solenoid which YES, should all be there and installed properly to prevent fuel leakage!

This could be a problem with the PCB not energizing the 14 circuit. It could also be caused by a faulty camshaft sensor telling the coils not to fire... The camshaft position sensor can be found here: https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... ion-sensor

I am sending 12 volts to my fuel solenoid. Without that plunger is that the reason I am getting fuel leak from the fuel lock line?
Rummer has it, there is no way to test the cam sensor, is this true? That was my next direction, just couldn't find a way to test it. Which is a higher fail item cam-sensor or PCB??
Thanks again

That plunger assembly is what shuts fuel off to the demand regulator and choke solenoid (if it has one).

The camshaft sensor has been known to go bad. There is a test procedure for the camshaft sensor, but it's basically: Make sure with the sensor removed the camshaft is actually moving, and check for continuity between the wiring. They don't list resistances or anything.

I have replaced a few of them for similar issues, so it's not a horrible idea to try that first... I don't want to see you just throw money and parts at it, but the PCB's are normally pretty good on the R200 series stuff.

Hey Chris,
My camshaft pick up, gas valve plunger and spring all showed up today. I was feeling lucky, but that ended fast. The plunger and spring worked great, no more gas leak.
As for the spark.......... No Luck!! Before I go and waste money on the control board, could the coil be bad?? What are my chances? Just hoping something better then $400 on the board and then find out it isn't that either. Any test for that either?

Thanks again

Man, I was really hoping that cam sensor was going to do the trick!

Talking about the coil, there are 3 wires there. 15A is 12V power to the coil and the 25A and 25B wires get pulsed to make either side of the coil pack fire. These are waste spark engines, so each side fires 2 plugs even though 1 of them doesn't need it. There is a possibility that the coil pack is bad, but there is a fairly simple test procedure as well outlined below.

Thanks Chris,
Sorry I found the procedure already and everything checked out fine. Guess I am down to the last and final thing. The board!!
Do you happen to know the number of the board I need? Is it something that will be in stock?

Thanks again

It's in stock at Generac and I would dropship it since it's not a popular part. They're pricey  $442.33

I'm out right now, but will get you a part number and link when I get back to the office!

This is the new style PCB for that unit. This PCB replaces the 0G1303D controller that is in yours now. https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... roller-pcb

Hey Chris,
Well, all my worries are over finally. All the testing we did and with your help kept leading back to the control board.
Well the board came yesterday and I installed it and the beast fired right up and runs perfect.
Thank you so much for your time and trouble. You are awesome!! Thanks for being out there for all us to lean on.

Thanks again
Larry
