Then all you would need is the new controller (as long as there is not a short somewhere in the conversion kit, however I've not ever heard of or seen that...

I really hope is a wire and not the controller.

founded, the board on the controller got fried really bad.

I would like to know how that happens.

Ants nesting on the board.
Nearby lightning strike.
Battery hooked up backwards.

To name a few possibilities.
