I have a watchdog genera model# 0G8294. The battery keeps dying. We’ve charged it up and it tests fine, but now has given my the no rpm sense failure after it tries and fails to start then alarms.

I suspect it may be the battery charger, based on your previous posts, but I can find the charger.

I also don’t see that you carry a charger replacement for my model, am I seeing that correctly?

Those numbers don't seem correct. Do you have a picture of the generator? I'm sure we have a charger for it!

0G8294 Is a part number for an engine. You need to look for generator serial and model number on a plackard on the firewall, not the engine.

Your battery charger is part number 2 in diagram. I’ll place a link to it from this site

You can read here how test the charger output and input here

They sell parts separately, cause sometimes the kits don’t contain the proper air filter or sparkplugs. Not sure why, but I have some maint kits for the 16 kw pre 2014 era that have wrong plugs and air. Even though the kit part number matches website.

That is a pretty good call. I’ll just grab it separate.

Got the replacement charger on its way from gentle. Looks like a straight forward install. I appreciate all the help!

Interesting. I replaced the battery and reconnected the two and three pin connectors. Also a 4 pin connector that was unplugged that traveled past the battery. Everything worked and exercise was set.

Had a storm last night, generator kicked on for a good long while during a power outage. However now today everything is wonky. Furnace seems to not be getting power, the garage door opener isn’t getting power. Is there something that could have been installed wrong and caused this?

Thoughts?

The transfer switch might not have switched back to utility power. Verify you have 240 volt on utility flowing thru transfer switch.
