My neighbor has a generac model G0070390. During the recent hurricane, my neighbor's generator stopped running and the tech got it fixed by installing an oil pressure sensor switch part number 0L2917C "NC".

I figured that would be a good part to have handy in case my generator experiences the same failure in future.

I have a generac model G0070391 (2 years newer than my neighbor's) and the oil pressure sensor switch installed from the factory is part number 0L2917D "NO".

From what I gather online, 0L2917C and 0L2917D have similar specs except 0L2917C is normally CLOSED and 0L2917D is normally OPEN.

Did the design of the generator change which resulted in a change of the way the switch works (closed versus open) or will either of those part numbers work in either of the generators?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the controller went from Evolution 1.0 to 2.0 and the controller's input changed for the oil switch.

The 0L2917C seen here: https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... lly-closed fits many Air Cooled units from about 2017 and earlier.

The 0L2917D: https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... mally-open fits newer Air Cooled models with the Evolution 2.0 (WiFi on board) units.

They are NOT interchangeable.

The specs as far as oil pressure and thread are the same.
