My generac smells like gas is leaking from inside the unit. The connection was checked on the outside by plumber it was good. Keep getting gas leak reading from inside and smell.

You need to shut the unit off and have a dealer come out and inspect the fuel plenum for rust or damage!

His unit uses an 0G7622G demand regulator that doesnt use a plenum. But i agree he needs to get a tech out and try using a gas sniffer on unit. You need to shut off gas to generator and turn it off until you find source of leak.

His serial pulls up a 20kW with the 0J8312 regulator assembly in it. https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... lizer-tank

Shut the gas off to the unit. Make sure there is NO gas smell around the unit and pull the battery out and look behind it at the fuel plenum. Take some pics and post them.

chris, thats weird. i punch in his serial number in genservice and under enclosure breakdown they show a regulator without plenum. very strange

Also, if i link serial number with a simple regulator search it shows a completely different regulator than the diagram. It shows a 0F8977 demand regulator. This one is weird.

When I search for 'reg' under his serial number, the 'pressure stabilized' one I mentiond comes up. Best way to know for sure is just to look back there haha! But, this was the era these were being used (and before).
