Hello,

I have no output from Generac Generator model XG8000e. Was running for 1hr then power flickered out. Checked Stator continuity Good. Exciter voltage to Capacitor is 1.7V, seems low. Does anyone know what exciter voltage should be at capacitor (Brushless unit(.
Thanks

Just reposted to add additional information. The Generac Generator part# is 005800 or 005747. Measuring exciter voltage at 47mF cap. With cap connected or not getting 1.7VAC.

Thanks
Chris

Hello,

I wanted to make sure before answering you. It tested bad on my meter from home but I did not trust the meter. I tested it with a LCR meter from work today and the Cap is bad. Do you think that's all it is or should Exciter voltage be higher then 1.7Vac.

Thanks
Chris

I would start with the known bad capacitor! This should be the one you need: https://shop.gentekpower.com/products/g ... 00e-others

Glad to hear it! Do you mind me asking where you ended up sourcing the cap from? I'm always curious
