I have a Powermate PM9400E (P0080800) S#3006599742. It is brand new 4 hours runtime. Pull it just to run some gas through it before winter. Electric start wouldn't work so I went to charge the battery and accidently plugged the charger into the plug that leads to the motor instead of the plug that leads to battery and when I did so I heard a a small "pop". Why they used plugs that allow this is beyond me but my mistake either way. Corrected my mistake and charged the battery properly but knew I was already screwed.

Now when I go to use the electric start it makes a high pitched clicking sound but never starts. I tried generac support but the woman had limited documentation and knowledge of this model. The plug lead that I plugged into goes to what I believe is a capacitor or solenoid of some sort but it has no markings on it. Looking for help on identifying the part number of what you think I may need.

Having a hard time finding a schematic for this machine. Hard to say what popped without it.

I have a pdf of the schematic but it won't let me upload a pdf so I have attached a screenshot.

I am 99% sure this contactor/solenoid/whatever you want to call it, is my problem. Waiting for battery to charge so I can jump across and see if it fires starter motor.

Any idea where to find this part. A Google search of the numbers on the backside pulls up nothing.

By the way. If its brand new, it should have a 3 year warranty.

I've seen them also by Stens ‎435-135.

So jumping 12v straight to the starter motor does start it. I have ordered a solenoid off Amazon since Generac only sells the starter motor assembly which includes the solenoid but they don't offer the solenoid by itself, at least not for this model.

Thanks all.
