I have a 2008 Beaver Patriot Thunder with the Onan 10000 Gen set. while the genny was running there was a loud noise and a big could of dust that came from underneath the coach, Genny continued to run (although seemed to be a little faster not sure if it was or not) and there was a pile of aluminum shrap metal underneath coach. I shut genny down and looked for any obvious issues, No fluids underneath and no obvious issues. I fired it back up with no issue. I started to take apart the genny to look for the cause. It appears that the metal is from the Fan Sucker (part # 130-4748). I have not had the time to get to rear of genny to take that cover off to verify but it appears that is where it is from looking at a parts diagram. From what I can see so fan the belt is still on and looks to be fine. Have you ever seen this failure? Any idea what would cause what I assume is the fan sucker to disintegrate like this? I assume it is spinning at well over 2000 rpm based on its size. Any knowledge or help you can give would be appreciated.
