Re: Load Shed Module
If there are abnormalities in power quality with the grid it can affect these and shed. There have been some changes in the way they operate over the years.

I have one sitting the yard that was doing it too. You could swap controllers, steppers. I’ve seen it when one butterfly got sucked into the cylinder. This showed low compression on one cylinder and the customer said replace it. It was a nexus unit.
Start looking elsewhere, mechanical issues.

Re: 2008 8KW GH410 RPM Sense Loss
A valve adjustment is worth doing especially if you don’t know when or if it’s been done recently. Do like he says and short across those terminals on the starter solenoid to see if it will turn over. These fail fairly regularly. Having a set of automotive jumper cables are handy to have too. If the...

Valves and making sure the orifice is set to the correct fuel type. I find ones that have been hanging on for years not converted to propane. Exercising, running poorly, only getting by by the fact that there haven't been any serious outages or load on it.

Valve adjustment. How many run hours? Then I’d look at coils. Will it run on one cylinder, trying both to see if it’s different. Lastly is the stepper moving the throttle as it’s supposed to?

I think you'll find the reverse thread on at least the tank itself. POL is what it's called. The regulators come with various inlet and outlet sizes. POL or NPT inlets, and various outlet NPT sizes.

Agreed, if the conductors aren't compromised, then probably some heat shrink sleeving and additional care arranging the wire during reassembly. Making sure there wasn't any likelyhood that this would happen again, vibration, etc.

I think I heard that from a bunch of customers over the years. Just put some love to a Briggs portable last week, valve adjustment, carb, coil plug, oil change and air filter. Runs great now after all the stinky mouse mess was cleaned out and otherwise normal maintenance done. Please use it regularl...

What I’ve found with these and any other portable, that if it isn’t used regularly, the carb gets gummed up. I don’t bother with rebuilding them, I just swap the carb out with new and implore customers to run them more often even if unloaded and shut down with the fuel shut off.

Re: Please Help! Generator starts and stops randomly outside of scheduled run.
The problem can lie ahead of the panel or transfer switch all the way out to the pole or transformer. Loose connections along the way back to the pole or transformer will do this. Get an electrician involved. The utility may have to be involved. Whoever shows up first will tell you whose responsibil...
